Fall Dinacharya and Ayurvedic Primer
In Ayurveda, Dinacharya are daily practices or routines. Our bodies and minds like routines. The body and mind like to know when things are going to happen so that they can perform optimally. This creates a nourishing and honoring effect on our beings and therefore they are calmed and perform more optimally. The routines generally take place at a similar time each day, at times changing with the season.
Summer is the season of fire. We are busy running about, travelling and doing all that we can do to absorb it all! We definitely get OUT of routines! And then, fall comes and we remember that routines need to return….especially in order to balance our bodies and prepare us for the winter months. It is an important time to get back into a routine, so that our immune system can be boosted to get us through the season ahead.
